Aircraft application

That amazing yet enigmatic propeller, especially when partnered with the UTARA Innovation!

Reduce your aircraft fuel costs

This product is made to go on the back of a spinning propeller and your safety precludes every step in the process!  The product is not standardized so finite measurements and precision engineering are imperative as each order is well thought out.

What is the UTARA?

The UTARA (Universal Thrust Autorotation Augmenter) designed and engineered by Bennett Botanical Propeller, is a small ‘peel and stick’ textured surface shaped like a rhomboid parallelogram, that when placed on the back of an aircraft propeller, increases the air pressure behind it resulting in an increment in thrust.

How does the UTARA work?  What is Restricted Directional Molecular Succession?

The UTARA increases the air pressure behind the propeller applying two separate, yet simultaneous operations known as Restricted Directional Molecular Succession:

Firstly, there are two speeds of airflow over the surface of a propeller; the face has the fastest flow, creating a vacuum, while the back has the slower speed or the pressure side.  The presence of the textured surface, or the UTARA, on the back of the propeller, presents a slight restriction slowing down the flow even more over its surface, rendering two speeds over the back, slow and slower relative to the front.  This slowed down airflow spikes the pressure additionally.

Secondly, the two differing speeds of airflow over the back establish a border between them.  This kinetic border serves as a boundary or ‘fence’, blocking, in part, what has always been considered  ‘spill’, or wasted energy from the centrifugal force.  This spill energy, now captured by the border, compounds at the fence and takes on its new role as it is redirected to the back surface of the propeller adding additional pressure.

Testing History:  Testing has proven the UTARA can increase the efficiency of a propeller in excess of 5%.  Even static testing, which at best, only reflects a vague indication of thrust available in flight, proved an increment of 1% to 3% with a sprinkling of 5% test results. Actual in flight testing proved considerably more thrust, and with a discernible accompanying incremental asymmetric blade effect (P Factor).  Sound too good to be true, try it on your own propeller and experience the amazing difference.

You don’t have to remove the propeller to install this!

This Product is NOT COMPATIBLE with propeller de-icing or internal heating systems unless the UTARA technology was included at the point of manufacturing.

This is truly a GREEN effort as fewer revolutions per minute are required to produce the same amount of efficiency. Less revolutions per minute means less energy needed — less fuel for an aircraft — which results in huge savings for you and also saves the environment at the same time.

Attention Tailwheel Pilots:  During your first take-off roll after the UTARA has been installed, you really need to be on that rudder!  Once the tailwheel separates from the ground and the aircraft is in a slightly nose high attitude briefly, you may well experience more asymmetric blade effect (P-Factor)!

What aircraft can/can not use the UTARA? (please read carefully)
